Development of Super High Performance Database Engine Based on Out-of-Order Execution
The infomation explosion has been realizing the strong necessity of enabling technology for substantially fast analysis of large-scale data ever for strategic exploitation of such information. This research and development project has been designated to attain substantial performance improvement of query processing on relational database systems. The project is, specifically, involved in (1) designing and implementing the high-performance database engine based on out-of-order execution, (2) materializing the technology for resource management for the database engine, (3) materializing the technology for behavior monitoring for the database engine, and (4) validating the effectiveness of the database engine in a evaluation platform by the use of strategic large-scale data-exploiting applications.
Organization and Plan
The research and development is planned to be operated as a joint project between The University of Tokyo and Hitachi Ltd. from 2007FY through 2011FY.
