Road Bike Setup

A note to lighten up my road bike with durable, lightweight, and high quality components towards sub 6kg.

Trade Info: I have several stuffs that are not to my taste. Please e-mail y.naoki (Gmail) if you're interested.

Build Policy

A comfy, durable, and light bike for everyday ride, with a plain/classic look & feel. GIANT frameset is one of the best BANG for the BUCK. I upgrade the inferior parts tie-in with the frameset in a cost-effective order, without sacrificing the comfort and durability. I'm reluctant to adopt things unsuitable for daily ride: skewers w/ Al rods, CF rings, Al cogs, track tubies <150g, CF-railed saddles <60g, wheels <1kg (or rims <250g).

Future plan

The order of the following replacement would be: chain (-50g) → tuning (RD: -30g) → Record ergo (-60g) → chainring (-10g) → tubies (-50g). If allowed, saddle (-50g) → brake (-100g) → cable (-30g) → tubies (-100g) → bar (-20g) → crank & BB (-200g) → wheel (-300g) → frame (:-p, -300g).
